“This academic year, my practice has exploded into a wider range of materials and subject matter. My plaster sculptures have overtaken my body of work and have helped me to explore personal and social issues. Taking inspiration from historical narratives and personal struggles, I have been able to explore subjects such as loss, impermanence, body dissatisfaction, social anxiety and Dadaism. By expanding my practice to encompass photography and digital drawing, I have been able to broaden my ability to produce works outside of the studio. Having been influenced by artists such as Ron Mueck, Robert Gober and Sarah Lucas, I feel it is important to explore our own relationships with ourselves and the human form.”
